Timeline, Gantt chart and calendar users take note! This is your month and your introduction to "Start Date - End Date - Auto Create," a new feature in SmartDraw 2007 that automatically creates timelines, Gantt charts and calendars for you. All you need to do is set the start and end dates you desire, and SmartDraw 2007 does the rest. It's no longer necessary to manually add columns and rows to create your drawing or calendar; SmartDraw 2007 does it for you.

The cornerstone of this new capability is the SmartPanel, a core feature of SmartDraw 2007. A drawing type specific SmartPanel is opened when you select a SmartTemplate. SmartPanels consolidate everything you need to create a professional-looking drawing into six buttons. Here's how you create a Gantt chart in SmartDraw 2007:

Timelines are equally automated. You set the start dates and end dates just as you would for a Gantt chart, select the time period you want (hour, week, month, or year), and SmartDraw 2007 creates the timeline for you.

Adding events and intervals is now a snap. Simply click on the style of event you want to add (up or down arrow, vertical, horizontal or diagonal text label) move it to the appropriate period on the timeline, and click. It's that easy.

Attention SmartDraw calendar users, "we will, we will, rock you!" Notwithstanding the abundance of new templates from which to choose, the new calendar features and capabilities in SmartDraw 2007 are huge! SmartDraw 2007 automatically picks the current month as your starting point, but allows you to change it. In addition, the last and next months in the calendar header are automatically updated! Holidays can be added by country (US, Canada, UK and Australia), and entering appointments and items is easy using click and stamp.
