On September 21st, 2008, SmartDraw.com will formally announce and demonstrate its improved PowerPoint® integration at Rick Altman’s PowerPoint® Live 2008 conference, which is being held here in our home town of San Diego, California. Rick Altman has authored a number of well-received guest articles for this blog in the past and is recognized as one of the leading authorities on good presentation design worldwide. He’s also the author of Why Most PowerPoint Presentations Suck.

“SmartDraw is very good at creating charts, graphs, forms and diagrams, and even better at integrating [those graphics] into a presentation. I am flattered that SmartDraw has chosen our conference to announce the software’s newest presentation features” – Rick Altman.

At some point next week, we are going to try to put up some video of the proceedings at the conference. But for those of you who are interested in what we’re going to be showcasing, here’s a quick list of the specific features that we will be demonstrating:

  • Animation of Charts and Graphs
  • Unique PowerPoint® Integration
  • Charts & Graphs with 3D Effects
  • Live Maps with Regional Data
  • 3D Perspective Effects (also known as the “flying carpet” layout)

Throughout the week we are going to continue posting additional presentation-related content.

I appreciate your papers and articles on using Smart Draw effectively and MS PPT.

I have made a lot of presentations during my career and appreciate the skill it takes to make truly effective presentations.

Thanks
