We are very excited to announce SmartDraw 2012, featuring completely
redesigned project management, new information hubs, powerful meeting
management, and revamped timelines and org charts. Over the last several
months, we have been hard at work redesigning and improving SmartDraw. We have
rebuilt many of our most powerful templates from the ground up, updated our
design, and added new themes!
I’ve outlined the highlights below:
Redesigned Project Management
With our new design, your project charts can always (and
easily!) fit on a single page and are more manageable. We have provided new
zoom and scrolling controls, illustrated below, that make viewing your project
charts much more manageable.
In addition to viewing your projects as a Gantt chart, timeline,
or mind map you now can view your projects in the new Assignment view. This
view lets you see who is doing what at a glance. You’ll be able to see the
progress for each task, color coded to show when a task is late and when it is
complete.
Plus, any set of tasks you create can be saved in your library
and used over and over again, saving you time the next time you must complete a
similar project.
Completely Rebuilt Meeting
Management
We have added a brand new meeting template that allows you to
capture and easily assign tasks in real time. In this template, you can quickly
and easily set the status of each task and see their progress with color coded
icons to indicate any task that is late or complete.
Brand New Timelines
SmartDraw 2012’s new timelines use completely overhauled
automatic controls. Events and tasks now automatically line up and never
overlap. You can easily move events and tasks around and control the amount of
details you want displayed with just a few clicks.
Revamped Org Charts
Org charts have received a well-deserved facelift! You can
now add photos to your org charts in just a single click. The photos always
maintain the proper ratio and are never distorted!
Announcing Hubs: A Powerful New Organization Tool
Last, but not least, we have added a powerful new
template that allows you to create visual hub of documents, visuals, links, and
other complex information using our easy-to-use templates. Hubs allow you to
organize your projects and provide a quick and easy way to communicate complex
information with anyone in your organization, whether it’s a new hire or upper
management.
