We've completely overhauled our timeline controls in SmartDraw 2012! Our new controls automatically format and adjust events on your timeline and are event better integrated with meeting and project templates. No matter how complex your timeline, events and tasks now line up automatically and never overlap. As you move events and tasks around, they'll automatically snap to the timeline and you never have to worry about them getting lost. With our simple to use SmartPanel controls, you can easily control the amount of detail you want displayed. What does this mean? Your timelines are always a clear, concise, and instantly presentation-quality visual that communicates clearly and comprehensively.
You can build a timeline from scratch by using the simple commands in the SmartPanel. You can change the format of your timeline from days to months on the fly.
But, you can also convert all existing mind maps, project charts, and assignment lists into a timeline with one click, by simply clicking the Timeline view.
The timeline template will enable you to show a project over the course of several different timescales using the brand new floating toolbar you should recognize from the project view.
For more complex projects, you may want to control the amount of detail you have. This is why we've added a control to the SmartPanel that allows you to easily show or hide the subtasks from the project chart. This makes it easy to give upper management a high level view while still preserving the option to dig into the details if necessary!
