Drawing to Scale
The first thing you will want to do is set the scale. By default, the scale
of the Work Area has 1 inch equal to 2 feet. If you want to change the units or ratio, click
Scale on the Page tab. You can choose Standard or Metric,
or you can click Custom to set the scale manually.
The Rulers & Grid group also lets you format where objects snap to the
invisible grid, and you can choose to show the rulers and grid and whether or not to use snaps.
You may have noticed a rectangle in the Work Area. This is meant to represent the wall
against which your storage devices will be. You can resize the wall in
a number of ways. Click on the border of the wall to select it. Black selection handles
and blue dimensions appear. You can drag the selection handles to resize the wall, but
for a more exact measurement, it is better to click on the dimensions and type the
correct lengths. You can also enter the dimensions into the Position & Size
Group on the Design tab while the wall is selected.
