Getting Started
SmartDraw is the perfect tool for sales managers to keep track of their distributors,
sales staff, clients, networks and more.
With hundreds of premade maps, as well as the ability to import
custom maps powered by Google®, making your map will
be quick and easy. SmartDraw has done the work for you!
Create Your Sales Territory Map Using a SmartTemplate
When you open SmartDraw, the first screen you see is the Document Browser, which
includes the SmartTemplate List on the left, the Preview Area in the
middle, and SmartHelp on the right. About a third of the way down the SmartTemplate
List, click on the Maps category. The Preview Area will show the Maps
SmartTemplates that you can choose from.
You may either choose a premade map or click on the Blank Interactive Map SmartTemplate.
All SmartTemplates, even the blank ones, have special settings to facilitate the creation
of the diagram for which they are intended. We will begin with the blank SmartTemplate.
Once you have opened a SmartTemplate, you will use the Maps SmartPanel™
to import and customize your map. If you chose a premade map instead of the blank map, the
SmartPanel will not include the Get Started group at the top.
