Organizational Charts Tutorial
Welcome to the Organizational Charts Web Tutorial! In this tutorial, we will build a couple of org
charts together, using the powerful automated organizational charting features of SmartDraw. If you don't
already have SmartDraw installed, we encourage you to follow along by downloading our free trial version,
or using your existing copy of SmartDraw 2009.
Building a Corporate Organization Chart
Open SmartDraw by double-clicking the SmartDraw icon and the Document Browser appears with the
SmartTemplates List on the left, the Template Preview Area in the center, and SmartHelp on the right.
Select the Org charts category on the left to open the Org Chart Templates Preview Area, and select the
"Blank Org Chart" SmartTemplate.
The Application Screen opens with the Work Area in the center, SmartPanel on the left, and the Main
Toolbar, the ribbon of tabbed controls, at the top. On the Work Area are four boxes which form your starting
point.
