To create your own symbol libraries in SmartDraw 7:

1. Select Create New Library under the Libraries menu.
   
   
2. Enter a name in the Name field.
   
   
3. Click the Select button to browse the current categories.
   
   
4. Choose a category or click Cancel to create a Custom Category.
   
   

Creating Custom Categories

To create your own categories:

1. Click the Create a New Category button
   
   
2. Create a Sub-Category if desired
   
   ... OR ...
   
   
3. Create a Top-Level Category by clicking Create a New Category.
   
   
4. Enter a name for the category and click OK.
   
   
5. Click OK to finish creating the library
   
   

The new library (and category) is reflected immediately in the Symbol Explorer in the Left Panel under the My Symbols directory and the library is then opened on the screen.

Your new library window, because it is empty, will show no symbols. You can add drawings to the new library by simply dragging them from SmartDraw drawings, other libraries, or by using the Add New Symbol command as described above.
