Many times when our customers report that they can't download their software successfully, it is the result of one of the following:
Download Managers such as:
Download Managers allow users the ability to resume broken or interrupted downloads. These download managers will not work with the SmartDraw.com downloads.
SmartDraw's downloads (except for the Trial Edition) are located on a secure server. These programs are prohibited by law to download from Secure Web Servers (HTTPS) so they are not compatible with our download files. If you are using a download manager, please disable it (Usually under the Options menu, or Disable Browser Integration) or simply uninstall it. After doing so, you shouldn't experience any further problems.
Corporate or Personal Firewalls:
If your office or personal computer is behind a firewall check with your System Administrator for download rights regarding ".exe" files. Some Firewalls have settings to block this file type from downloading because some malicious internet users send viruses that run when an unsuspecting person runs the file. If it is a personal firewall, check your settings for this situation.
Download extension of .htm:
Some internet browsers have trouble downloading files through our secure server. When trying to download your purchased copy of SmartDraw, instead of getting the installation executable (.exe), you will download a file called download.htm.
If this occurs, visit your download page and choose "Download". When you click on "Download" button select "Run" or "Open" to open the .htm file then on the next screen (which will look exactly the same), select "Save" to save the actual .exe installation file.
If you are experiencing a different situation or problems still persist, please contact SmartDraw Customer Support.
