Import a Family Tree from a Data File

SmartDraw can automatically build (or update) a Family Tree from tab-indented or D-formatted text file (like that used by Org Plus).

To import a data file:

1. At the bottom of the Family Tree Tab, click the down arrow to reveal more commands.

2. Click Import a Tree from Data.

3. Set the parameters using the controls in the dialog box.

Export a Family Tree Chart as Data

The Export function is essentially the Import function in reverse.

To export a data file:

1. At the bottom of the Descendent tab, click the down arrow to reveal more commands.

2. Click Export Tree as Data.
