How to Create the Classroom

Begin by drawing your classroom to scale. Having the correct proportions will make organizing your room much easier, so you may want to take some measurements first.

To draw a wall, click Add Single Wall in SmartPanel, then click and drag the mouse across the Work Area.

The length in feet is shown as you draw the wall so that you can draw it the right length. To change the scale to metric, click Scale in the Page tab and choose Floor Plan (Metric).

Add more walls to your first wall. Click Add Single Wall, and then click on one of the ends of the existing wall and drag to draw a perpendicular wall. A dashed, blue line appears in the middle of the existing wall to show that it is attached to the wall you are drawing.

When you draw the last wall, which will connect to the first wall, a circle appears around the pencil cursor as you approach the first wall, indicating that the walls will connect to form a shape if you release the mouse there.

How to Add Shapes

Add Shapes by clicking on them in the Construction Symbol Gallery in SmartPanel, then clicking in the Work Area where you would like to add them. Doors, windows, and other symbols will snap to the walls in the correct position, making your job fast and easy. Your cursor becomes an anchor to show that the shape is snapped onto the wall.
