Creating Storage Designs with SmartDraw

You may have noticed a rectangle in the Work Area. This is meant to represent the wall against which your storage devices will be. You can resize the wall in a number of ways. Click on the border of the wall to select it. Black selection handles and blue dimensions appear. You can drag the selection handles to resize the wall, but for a more exact measurement, it is better to click on the dimensions and type the correct lengths. You can also enter the dimensions into the Position & Size Group on the Design tab while the wall is selected.

Now you can begin adding symbols. In SmartPanel, click on a symbol in the Add Shapes Symbol Gallery, then click again in the Work Area where you would like to add it. You can resize it in the same manner as you did the wall.

Switch libraries by clicking the Library Selector just above the gallery and choosing another library from the drop menu.

Find more symbols by clicking Find Symbols in SmartPanel. In the More Symbols dialog, you can search for symbols using the search bar, or browse the Symbol Libraries Explorer Tree. Once you have selected a library you'd like to open, click Open Library to open the library in SmartPanel, or OK to open the library and close the dialog.
