NEW IN VERSION 4.22

Features and Improvements in 4.20

1. Lines now connect to other lines so that the hooked lines appear to remain fixed when the target line grows.

2. Many new templates and libraries for business (flowcharts, org charts, timelines, etc).

4. Significant improvements in ungrouping to support very large polygon shapes and to convert closed polylines into fillable shapes.

Bugs Fixed in 4.20

1. Hang fixed when text labels are included in grouped objects without their parent objects.

3. Hang fixed when grouping a line and shape where the line was linked to the shape.

4. Print preview: Scroll bar works and images that are in fact smaller than one page now are fit properly on one page when "print to one page" is checked.

5. Equation editor images now export to EPS with symbol fonts properly.

6. Unlicensed libraries now open with drag and drop.

7. Unlicensed symbols in drawings are now licensed properly when the license is installed.

NEW IN VERSION 4.12

1. 4.12 supports the new Network Design Collection and the SmartDraw Licensing system.

2. SmartDraw can now open NetDraw Plus files.

3. Certain problems involving inserting SmartDraw OLE objects into Microsoft Word^® 97 have been fixed.

4. Users in Germany and other countries that use a comma for a decimal point can now enter decimal numbers in this way in SmartDraw dialogs.

5. Simply printing a document no longer causes SmartDraw to prompt you to save when you close it.

6. Double-clicking on files in the explorer now always opens them in SmartDraw with long filenames.

7. The install program can now take over the registration for NetDraw.

NEW IN VERSION 4.11

Version 4.11 or higher is required for the new Network Design Collection (and all forthcoming Collections that use the SmartDraw Library Licensing system).

1. You can now add a shape to a line, like the electrical engineering symbols. This is done by attempting to group a single line with a single shape using the Group command under the Arrange menu.

2. SmartDraw now installs itself properly on a client PC by simply running it from the server.

3. SmartDraw now detects whether it is being run on a network.

4. Problems with certain inkjet printers, including Lexmark printers and older Deskjets that cause a crash upon opening a new document are fixed.

5. Corrected a problem with saving as a PDF file in the wrong format.

This maintenance release fixes the following problems in version 4.0 and 4.01

1. Network file sharing problem. When two copies of the same file are open at the same time, saving changes can fail with no error message reported.

2. Several problems inserting and removing rows from tables.

3. Incorrect coordinates in the Position dialog when using certain ruler scales.

4. Problems involving lines connecting to shapes switching to the wrong shapes when files are reopened.

5. Problems opening files when using the HP LaserJet 5 and 6 printers.
