Building a Software Order Process Flowchart

Follow along as we walk through the creation of a Software Order process flowchart for a business from start to completion. Below is an example of a hypothetical software order process.

Start SmartDraw by double-clicking the SmartDraw 2009 icon and this will open the Document Browser. Select the Flowcharts category from the SmartTemplate list on the left and select the Blank Flowchart SmartTemplate from the Preview Area in the middle of the screen to open the Application Screen. Our SmartTemplates contain special settings that make it easy to create the diagram for which it is intended, so even though it is "blank", choosing the right SmartTemplate makes a difference.

When you are building your flowchart, you will use the Flowcharts SmartPanel, located on the left side of the Application Screen. Each diagram-specific SmartPanel contains controls that facilitate the construction of your diagram.
