Arranging and Resizing Objects to Match
SmartDraw helps keep your shapes aligned by snapping them to an invisible grid that lies behind the drawing area. If you use the SmartPanel's add shapes commands, you may never need to worry about moving or aligning shapes. However, if you do want to adjust or reposition your shapes, SmartDraw helps you do that with several alignment tools.

First, select the objects you want to arrange. Do this by clicking on each object in turn (while holding down the Shift key).

NOTE: These shapes cannot be connected using the automatic flowchart lines. If they are, aligning them is automatic as well and cannot be changed manually.

The last object you click on will have black selection handles signifying that it's the Target Object. You can find alignment tools under the Design Tab's Shape Layout group. When you use the Align or Make Same commands in the Shape Layout group, all the selected objects will be aligned or sized to match the target object.
