HOW TO DRAW ORGANIZATIONAL CHARTS
Starting with a SmartTemplate
The easiest way to draw an org chart with SmartDraw is to start with a SmartTemplate chosen
from under the Org Charts category on the Home Screen of SmartDraw that you see every time
the product opens.
The Org Chart SmartPanel and SmartHelp
To help simplify the process of making a complex org chart, both the blank
org chart template and all the org chart examples
in SmartDraw will open with a diagram specific SmartPanel
docked to the left of your work area. The SmartPanel will walk
you through creating an org chart in just a few, easy steps.
Basic Org Chart Structure
The basic building blocks of any SmartDraw org chart are shapes that represent
departments or personnel and Automatic Connectors that give the chart
its hierarchy and structure.
To expand on your starting template, you can easily add additional shapes representing employees and divisions by clicking on any of the buttons under the SmartPanel's Add Shapes area.
