HOW TO DRAW GANTT CHARTS (cont'd)

Search for additional symbols

Adding a Milestone
While SmartDraw doesn't natively support the addition of milestones, you can use any SmartDraw shape and drag it to your chart to mark a milestone.

You can find generic geometric shapes under the Tools group or you can click the Library tab on your SmartPanel and search for libraries with symbols.

For example, you can find stars by clicking on More in the Add Symbols menu of the Library panel.

Next, type in "star" in the search tab in the More Symbols dialog that opens. This will search SmartDraw's entire library of symbols. Matching libraries will be placed in the Search Results folder at the top of the familiar Windows like folder structure.

Clicking on a library will open a preview pane to the right. To open the library, click on the Open Library button. Once you have all the libraries you need, close the dialog.

Resizing a milestone image

Resizing a milestone image

In the open library, click to select a symbol you want to use as a marker.

Next, simply click on the chart where you want the milestone.

Drag the milestone to move it if needed. Use the black handles around the shape to resize it if it's too big.

After resizing, click to select the shape and drag it into the place.

To keep adding the same milestone to the chart, shift-click it in the library and stamp away. Hit "Escape" to stop.

It's important to note that these milestone markers will not stretch with your chart if you modify the start or end dates of tasks.
