You can format org chart boxes as rounded rectangles or ovals. To format the box shape, click on a box (or several boxes by holding the Shift key as you click), click Box Format in the Format group of SmartPanel, and select a format from the menu. To select several boxes, click on the Select menu in the Tools group of the Home tab, choose Select Multiple, and click each box in turn. There is also an option to Select All Shapes, which will select all boxes (and any other object besides lines).

You can add a picture to a box—whether or not it's split—by clicking on the box, clicking Add Picture in the Format group of the SmartPanel, browsing your computer for an image, and clicking Open.

Org charts can be quite large and thus difficult to read. If you are not working with a branch on the org chart, you can collapse it to temporarily hide the entire branch. Each box with subordinates attached to it has a small icon near where the subordinates are attached. Simply click on that icon to collapse the branch. To expand a collapsed branch, just click the icon.
