Bring Your Floor Plan to Life with Realistic Textures

SmartDraw includes a large collection of photo-realistic textures you can apply to floor plans and landscapes to help bring your designs to life.

Adding textures to your flooring, wall finishes, and countertops will give clients and collaborators a more accurate sense of how the final product will look and feel. Your designs will be clear and more engaging. Add bricks, tiles, wood, granite, and more.

In landscape designs, textures like grass, stone, and water are essential in helping stakeholders visualize their future space.

How to Add Textures in SmartDraw

To apply a texture fill to a shape, select the Textures option from the Fill menu under the Home tab.

Clicking on the Edit button in the Texture dialog will bring up some options for how your texture will be applied.

For example, setting the texture scale to be smaller than 100% will reduce the size of repeating pattern.

You can also choose where the texture is applied from.

By default, textures are applied from the top left of the shape. You can choose another location by clicking Edit and setting the Alignment in the Set Texture Application Parameters dialog.

Changing where the pattern starts will produce slight cosmetic variations.
